Q.Working in regional rural bank on contract as daily wages employee
We work in Narmada Jhabua Gramin Bank (This is a Regional Rural Bank) from 6-7 years. Now bank shifted there head office in bhopal so that bank decided to remove us from bank. While other regional rural banks made permanent employees to their daily wages employee. I want a legal advice. Is there any chance for us to be permanent here.

A. ) This is a complicated question. Better to consult an expert labour lawyer face to face. However, broadly I can say that if you have worked for a continuous period of what you have stated and not less that 240 days in one year, y'all can claim conferment of permanent / compensation for either retrenchment or closure. But really the proper facts of the case have to be checked first before giving such advise. Do you have a union? How many members have been so affected? In any case, you can raise an Industrial Dispute, after consulting a local labour lawyer.

All 8 of you should raise an Industrial Dispute before the relevant Commissioner of Labour. You can take the assistance of the office bearers of the Union also. If the 8 of you will be able to mobilise enough funds, you can request a panel lawyer from Vidhikarya.
