Working in regional rural bank on contract as daily wages employee Working in regional rural bank on contract as daily wages employee

We work in Narmada Jhabua Gramin Bank (This is a Regional Rural Bank) from 6-7 years. Now bank shifted there head office in bhopal so that bank decided to remove us from bank. While other regional rural banks made permanent employees to their daily wages employee. I want a legal advice. Is there any chance for us to be permanent here.

A.This is a complicated question. Better to consult an expert labour lawyer face to face. However, broadly I can say that if you have worked for a continuous period of what you have stated and not less that 240 days in one year, y'all can claim conferment of permanent / compensation for either retrenchment or closure. But really the proper facts of the case have to be checked first before giving such advise. Do you have a union? How many members have been so affected? In any case, you can raise an Industrial Dispute, after consulting a local labour lawyer.

All 8 of you should raise an Industrial Dispute before the relevant Commissioner of Labour. You can take the assistance of the office bearers of the Union also. If the 8 of you will be able to mobilise enough funds, you can request a panel lawyer from Vidhikarya.
