Pet in common area in Newtown Kolkata cooperative society Pet in common area in Newtown Kolkata cooperative society

I have a 9 month labrador who has not created any nuisance..he does his stuff inside the house as he is trained to do so. He plays inside the house as well ..once a week we take him downstairs when no other human is present to give him some excercise and he is always on leash..Still member of society and secretary states that we cannot take dog to common area and it's prohibited in laws of their cooperative society. So far they haven't been able to show me any document or rule in written. But this shouting and harrassment is taking a mental toll. kindly suggest what legal help I can get

A.Dear Client
What they are saying is not correct unless they show you the actual rules that they have formulated regarding the same. Once they show you the rules they you can get in touch with a lawyer to counter them legally as these kind of rules are illegal.

A.Dear client,
The association members cannot do so.
Ban of pets is illegal: The advisory is being issued in pursuance of ‘Section 9(k) Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act,1960’, it is illegal for housing societies to pass pet bye-laws that disallow pets, not even on a majority vote by the residents of the society.
According to article 51 A (g), it is the duty of every citizen to have compassion for animals and any living creature.
