I included a death certificate with my RTI application and asked for details on the legal heir certificate that had been obtained for my grandfather. I was not aware of the certificate number and date when issued, now the PIO requested to provide certificate no and date. IS PIO LEGALLY RIGHT OR WRONG? on their reply

A.Dear client,
PIOs cannot provide such documents that you haven't received from an RTI application.
If you did not receive any response at all or in the prescribed time frame for your RTI, then you should file an appeal with the relevant first appellate authority within 30 days of the expiry of the 30 day time period to supply information. Such an appeal will be reviewed and disposed off within 30 days of receipt, or 45 days in exceptional circumstances. If the appeal is still not disposed off or if you are still unsatisfied, one can file a second appeal to Central Information Commission. this appeal must be done away within 90 days from the date of the last day of the 30 or 45 day time period of the first appeal.
