Domestic Violence Domestic Violence

I saw a domestic violence, happening in my neighbourhood. Mentioning how brutally a husband behaves with his wife, I wrote a mail to the SP of the district, keeping my identity anonymous. Since the accused person was himself in police, he got called by SP and warned not to repeat that again. With some internal links, the accused policeman traced me; now, he is threatening to file a legal case against me for interfering in his personal issue. Would he be able to do so, if his wife is acting in favour of her husband?

Thank you so much, Prabhakara! I thought I got myself stuck in an undesired risk, but people like you really deserve appreciation for clearing the doubts, associated with creating awareness in society. I'm not a criminal but a person with stainless intentions. I saw something happening off track, and my mind couldn't adjust as per the regulations of what they called conventional and untreatable. I took one step further and showed that 'Vardi Wala Gunda,' how he, too, comes under the claw of law. Thanks once again!

A.He cannot take action against you "Legally". Providing information is not an offence. Violence of any kind is an offence. The victim may lie. That does not make you a wrong person in any manner. Even defamation will not be made out. But a victim who does want to help herself cannot be helped.
