A.dear client The earlier time required was more than 6 months but there are certain amendments as per the directions of the Apex court in this matter in relation to cooling period for 6 months especially in cases of mutual divorce. Hence, no actual time period can be stated, but on a general note you can assume the entire proceedings to be completed within a period of 1 year.

A.In cases of divorces with the mutual consent of both the parties do not take much time. Your divorce can be granted by the court even on the first day of the matter but it will depend upon the notion that both of you have decided this mutually. But it can take longer time than this if the court is not satisfied with your grounds on which both of you want divorce.

A.Earlier divorce with mutual consent use to take more than 6 months as there is a provision for cooling off period of 6 months. Later the Supreme Court has said that in mutual consent divorce the cooling off period can be ignored. So, now there is a possibility of getting the divorce within 6 months. But the time frame always depends on the dates that you would receive from the court.
