Business Partner Cheating Business Partner Cheating

My father was approached by a person in November 2019. The person is a writer who also publishes books. He asked my father to be a silent partner in his firm by asking him for ₹500000 and assured him remuneration of ₹30000 per month for next 5 years. They completed the agreement in Feb 2020. He sent first two installments but later on he refused to give the money and started giving various reasons. As Covid was going on my father waited for one year but the person didn't gave a single rupee. My father is mild in nature so he couldn't take any appropriate action against him. What action can be taken against him? Please suggest..

A.Dear Sir,
He must be in good books to settle the deal and try to get atleast post dated cheques in respect of investment made by your father. Otherwise, it is very difficult to recover the amount.

Thank you for responding Sir. The person has given post dated cheque of the principal amount when the agreement was made. So is our side strong in this case?
