Regarding parcel
One of my friend sent me some articles as a New year gift from UK. I didn't know that he kept money also in that parcel. I got call from courier service company and asked me for fine firstly for custom scanning ₹50,000 which I paid. After they told me that some gold and diamond items are also there so you have to pay ₹1,35,000. I paid that amount as well. Then they said that there is some currency also so you have to pay 4% as fine I paid ₹ 1,90,000 for that. They said that if you pay this amount We will release half of your amount but after three days they are asking again remaining amount saying around ₹1,20,000. Some one told me that this is fraud don't pay. What should I do
A.Dear Sir,
It is entirely fraud and no Customs/Excise department has such powers unless they come to conclusion that there are some goods which are either banned or transported without paying necessary taxes. U may llodge complaint with local police to get back your amount.
