Landlord and Tenant

Owner not returning the lease amount

Me and brother had leased a property for our work purpose for 1 year.It's been two months of today the lease period is over and we informed prior three months as per Aggrement and now he's not ready to pay back he is giving reason wait till the next tenant as per our knowledge he used the our part of lease money to buy a new car What I the next best option in this situation that we have?

Dear Sir,
You have two options either not to hand over the keys or approach the Police. You may get issue a legal notice saying that you will go to Court and return the possession without paying the damages or rent and also sublet the premises.
