I've been arranged married for 18 months, ever since our marriage there is disagreement between us later on few months back we had couple of sessions with a psychiatrist and found that my wife is suffering from delusion of infidelity, stubborn behavior, self harming disorder now this has escalated a lot and she is physically hurting me also as well as mental torture. Need legal advice on this since she's pregnant currently and staying at her hometown for now

A.since your marriage had passed 18 months and your wife had conceived a child, annulment on the ground of her mentally incompetence and emotional disorder at this stage will not be accepted by the court unless you can satisfy the court with circumstantial evidences. Alternatively if you do not want to continue with the marriage then you can file a divorce case on the ground of cruelty. However bear in mind that you will not have the custody of the child till the age of 5 years and you have to bear maintenance of both the child and your wife. In this situation it is better to consult a good neurologist for her treatment and recovery.

Dear Sir,

Thanks your concern in this. The doubt I have is if there is a treatment for neurology disorder that'll impact d child in d womb because my wife had been under such medication for a month and there were side effects of the same on her body

A.Dear Sir,
To avoid future issues. First start collecting evidence in the form of admissions that you have not taken dowry from them otherwise they may file a dowry case against you. Then get issue a legal notice to annul the marriage on medical grounds saying the issues not made known to you before marriage and thus you have been cheated.
