Service tax
Respected Sir,
I got service tax registration in 2006. I got a government job in 2009. After getting the job I resigned from all profitable service. Unfortunately I didn't surrender my service tax registration. Even I didn't submit any return after that period. Recently central excise department has imposed huge amount penalty on me. Can I get any exemption from penalty. Please suggest me what I should do.
A.Dear Sir,
You can approach the concerned appellate authority and try to get reduce the penalty to minimum, failing which you may approach High Court and it will consider your bonafides and pass favourable orders.
