IT sent a notice that in 2007 a company was registered with ROC and the company has not filed taxes in assessment yr 2011-12. The company shows 2 directors and one of them is my father (now age 77). On internet it you search it shows as company had capital of 1lakh. My father does not remember starting such company, investing money in it or getting any money from the company. .
1) Is it legal to send notice after 5 years
2) How to respond to 148 notice sent by office of rank Ward Income Tax officer
3) Assuming such company was started in March 2007 and my father was directly involved with the company which is only registered and seems to have done no business , how does e respond to notice?
