Restrictions on electronic payment
Can a registered co-operative society pass a resolution that payment of monthly dues by RTGS/NEFT/Bank Transfer will attract a penalty on the member? Can they insist that Cheque in Dropbox is the only acceptable mode of payment? Does this not violate the Government's push towards electronic digital payments? What legal remedy should I adopt if I am penalised like this?

A.Sir no one can stop you from paying the amount through any way of recognised legal tender. No one can impose penalty as well. There are a variety of modes by which one can pay according to ones own convenience. Issue them a legal notice if they do not honour your payment and also give a letter stating that you shall go up to the RBI and take legal actions for not honouring your payments.

A.Dear Sir,
They cannot instruct you to use only particular method of remittance. Get issue a legal notice and threaten them to report to the RBI authorities and other authorities for taking action against them for not honouring legal tender through RTGS/NEFT Bank transfers.
