Hello, I live in Mumbai in a chawl. We are facing a huge water problem in our chawl. Hardly we get 4-5 buckets of water per day which is not sufficient for daily home chores. We have to go outside on roads and in other areas to ask water from others. We are facing this problem from last 3 year, without water our life has become misserable. We aproached our MLA but he always give excuse and sometimes get angry on us and he is not helping us. BMC officials also visited our chawl and told to approach MLA. Water is our basic need and it is our human right. Human cannot live without water. In such case what to do how to solve our problem

A.You prepare a letter and get it signed by some other inhabitants as well. Attach the water tax receipts which you have paid and file a complaint in the Maharashtra State Consumer Commission, and demand compensation. Alternatively, you can engage an advocate to file a writ petition in the High Court against Muncipal Corporation
