In this situation, you/ your mother can file a complaint against your father to the local police under section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDV) for mental and physical harassment and abuse. According to section 12(1) of the said act, an application to the Magistrate can be made by an aggrieved person or a protection officer or any other person on behalf of the aggrieved person to seek appropriate remedy in the matter. Further, Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act provides for the grounds of divorce. So, your mother can also file a suit for judicial separation or divorce on the grounds of mental cruelty. When you are experiencing such type of continuous threat to your safety and security including mental and physical harassment in-house, you can get in touch with a social worker or NGO who renders dedicated service to help you out of the crisis. If you are economically dependent on your family you may not have any choice other than remain in the same house and continue with your life. If you feel you can manage outside without the support of your family for all your needs, nothing prevents or restricts you from walking out of your home to look for the destiny of your choice. You cannot legally compel your father/family to maintain you as you are an adult. Therefore, you need to arrange for an independent source of income to live your life on your own terms. In the prevailing situation, You have the right to file a complaint against your parents if they beat you or hurt you in the local police station under Sec.12 of the PWDV Act, 2005. Under Sec.12(1) of the Act, an aggrieved person or a Protection Officer or any other person on behalf of the aggrieved person may present an application directly to the Magistrate seeking one or more reliefs under this Act. Apart from this, you can make a complaint online (https://nhrc.nic.in/complaints/complaints/how-to-file-a-complaints) to the Chairperson, the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi and the State Human Rights Commission along with the Chairperson, National Commission for Women and State Commission for Women who are empowered to investigate complaints related to issues faced by women in distress by sending an email to ncw@nic.in or filing an online complaint. Further, you can also approach the State Commission of Women situated in your state, and seek help from the local NGOs who rendered dedicated service to the women in distress. If you are not financially sound enough to afford litigation expenses, you can apply before the Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority or Dist. Legal Services Authority seeking free legal aid services available to women under Sec.12(c) of the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987 to contest the cases before the Court for appropriate relief. It is better to stay away from your parents without disclosing your present address. In most of the cases in family matters Police may not help you unless you approach IPS Rank lady police officers. You can lodge complaint against your parents for abuse and physical assault.
