Dear Sir/Ma'am, I want to appeal in Supreme Court against the order of Bombay High Court passed in my case. Please let me know the procedure for it. Can I directly go to the Supreme Court or is any other procedure do I need to follow?

A.Unless one of the courts listed in the Role of The Supreme Court section has made an order affecting you, you will not be able to take your case to The Supreme Court. Furthermore, not all orders made by lower courts can be appealed to The Supreme Court.

Only after this court has refused to grant you permission to appeal against its judgment can you then apply to The Supreme Court.

In most cases, to bring an appeal to The Supreme Court, you must first apply to the court which handed down the judgment to ask for permission to appeal.

Thank you very much sir for your valuable opinion. My matter is related with PIL in Bombay Hih Court. BHC dismissed the petition. I personally feel that the court did not pass a reasoned order. Can I go directly to the Supreme Court to challenge the order or do I have to do any other formalities in Bombay High Court. Please let me know.
