Shopkeeper refusing to refund

I purchased a porta Light from the studio worth about 1K₹ (also purchased some other equipment with it worth 700 maybe), the thing is when he showed me the light when demo it was in a large studio so I thought it was a balanced amount of light luminance so I bought it. After purchasing the light was very bright, I informed them and asked for a refund but they are only offering me an exchange saying you used it for a day so we cannot refund. The exchange was like you just give us the light back and pickup something 1K₹ equivalent. So I was thinking that if the light is not worth anything for him as he refused a refund and now he will take my light (i.e. 0₹) and give me something worth 1K₹ like does it make sense?

Dear Client,
If you do not agree with or are aggrieved with the offer of the Studio, serving a legal notice, you can escalate your grievance/complaint against the studio before the Dist. Consumer Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 for deficiency in service and unfair trade practice claiming the exchange of a new one or a refund of cost of product along with compensation for harassment. The complaint should be filed before the Consumer Court within two years from the date of cause of action.
