Guy threatening me on snapchat

I (14F) was talking on my snapchat account with a 20+ guy. He started taunting me so we started hurling abuse at one another. And my friend stepped in between and abused him too. Now he got really angry. And is threatening me that if i dont talk to him on video call, he will hunt my friend down. He has taken a screenshot of my snap profile. and is threatening to go to cyber cell with it. he knows my first name. thats all. and what i look like. since my snaps got deleted after 24 hours. anything else he doesnt know. he is saying if i dont get on vid call, and run (that is block him and leave) he will do something. And he seems really determined. He is saying he will hunt me and my friend down. And idk what he will do. But legal action i guess. Please please help.

In the given scenario, you being a minor(14/F) should first inform your parents about the incident and before the errant and unruly guy takes any unlawful action, you should make a complaint/FIR against him for criminal intimidation at the local police station under Section 351 of BNS and simultaneously report the matter to the cyber cell online at https://www.cybercrime.gov.in/ Apart from this, you can file a private complaint against the person in the court of the Magistrate under Section 223 of BNSS which outlines the procedure for a Magistrate to take cognizance of an offence. Upon receiving a complaint, the magistrate shall examine the complainant and any witnesses present. This examination is conducted under oath, and the substance of the examination is documented and signed by the complainant, witnesses, and the magistrate. If the magistrate finds sufficient grounds for proceeding with the complaint, he may issue a summons or warrant to the accused under Section 227 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023. You can make a complaint online to the Chairperson, National Commission for Women and State Commission for Women who are empowered to investigate complaints related to issues faced by women in distress by sending an email to [email protected] or filing an online complaint. In the given scenario, you may approach the Juvenile Justice Board of your district explaining the ordeal and threat/apprehension you are facing from the errant guy. You may hire the service of an Advocate, if required, to navigate the issue in the right way.
