Dear Client,
It seems your tax refund is delayed despite correcting the defective notice and submitting the required information. Here are possible reasons for the delay and the steps you can take:
The correction of the defect might not have been verified successfully by the tax authorities. Sometimes, the tax department's systems may take time to process corrections, especially if they involve manual verification. There could be other issues with your tax return, such as a mismatch in your income or deductions, or pending queries related to your tax return. Processing delays can occur if the department is dealing with a large number of refunds.
If your bank details in the income tax portal do not match or are incorrect, this could delay the refund.
check the current status of your refund. Ensure that your correction of the defective notice was successfully processed.
You can check this by going to e-Proceedings and reviewing the status of any correspondence with the tax department.
If the refund is still not processed and there is no update, you can submit a grievance on the Income Tax Portal.
Go to the E-Nivaran section, and file a grievance explaining the delay. Provide details about the defective notice, the date you corrected it, and any communication you've had since.
If your refund was processed but there is a failure in crediting it (due to wrong bank details, etc.), you can request a refund reissue.
On the portal, go to My Account > Service Request > Refund Reissue.
If no progress is made, you can contact your Assessing Officer (AO) to escalate the issue.
The details of your AO can be found in the Profile Section on the income tax portal.
Contact the Central Processing Centre (CPC) of the Income Tax Department to inquire about the delay in refund.
You can call the CPC helpline or email them via their official contact details.
Regards
