I work as a freelance Recruiter/Consultant. An XYZ company approached me to help them recruit senior candidates. Payment term was agreed 1 month. It's been almost 2 months I have not received payment yet. Client keeps on avoiding my phone and emails. I have the agreement copy with me and invoice copy as well. Kindly let me know under which code of conduct/ which IPC section I can file a complaint? Kindly help

A.Dear Sir,
You may lodge a police complaint but it being a civil in nature you may get issue a legal notice and approach Civil Court for recovery of amount.

A.Please follow the following steps.

1. Send them a legal notice asking them to repay the amount under a specified time frame. [in case they do not comply, then]

2. File a suit for recovery of money by the help of any local lawyer in the court having jurisdiction.

A.send them a legal notice through one prominent lawyer (offline/online) for making payment of the outstanding amount and in case payment not made despite service of legal notice, file suit for recovery against them.
