PEN NUMBER ISSUE

I was studying in 10th last year and I passed it with good marks , now I had taken admission in new school , but they are asking for pen number but I don't have any pen number of mine , they are saying that you have not registered by previous school and you are still showing in 9th class . I was shocked that I passed 10th and also have all the certificates than how can I be in 9th . How can I shown in 9th class , and what could I do now . Can I go for new pen number ?? And still can be registered in class 11th . Plz reply sir , I am facing huge problem , regarding this .

Personal Education Number or “PEN” is an initiative of the National Informatic Centre(NIC), Govt. of India, to create a unique identification number across all Education platforms. PEN would be issued to 5 key persons (Learners, Parents, Teachers, Administrators and Community Members) interacting through 3 generalized scenarios: Learn, Help Learn and Manage Learn as defined in National Digital Enterprise Architecture (NDEAR). PEN would contain a minimum set of essential parameters (like name, date of birth, gender, email, phone etc.) validating the association of personas to the education sector to uniquely identify an academician or an entity. It would act as a permanent reference number in the entire personal lifecycle at different learning stages including pre-primary, primary, secondary, senior secondary, graduate, post-graduate, upskilling etc. So, for PEN, you need to contact your previous school failing which you should contact NIC Service Desk either online at https://servicedesk.nic.in or by sending an email to: servicedesk-nic[at]nic[dot]in.
