Self appearance
I had filed a writ in court with the help of a lawyer. I pay lawyer for every hearing. However I was charged by the lawyer for adjournment (on my request) on my last hearing. However the order passed by the court states that "No one has appeared on behalf of the petitioner". The court gave the next date for hearing in the order. So I don't know if the lawyer actually appeared to get the date adjourned or did not appear and yet charged me for that date. Also, I want to withdraw the petition now. My questions are 1. Is adjourment also chargeable by lawyer? 2. Is withdrawing the case by way of appearance chargeable by lawyer? 3. Can I withdraw the case myself withour going to the lawyer? 4. Is there any way of knowing whether the lawyer appeared or not on that date?
