Landlord and Tenant

PG rent

I want to leave the pg I paid for due to hygiene and other issues. I have paid the security deposit and rent for a month but want to leave the Pg within 3 days of staying there. I asked for a refund to which they declined. They did not state any lock in period before and did not mentioned about any such rule. They also did not make any agreement on which any such rule was stated.

Dear Sir,
You have to get issue a legal notice and then go to Civil Court for recovery which is a lengthy process. Alternatively, you may continue your stay till security deposit is exhausted.

Dear Client,
In the absence of any rent agreement outlining the terms of refund of advance rent, it is a most difficult and cumbersome exercise to get a refund of your deposit from the landlord. A dispute between a tenant and landlord is resolved under the state-specific Rent Control Act or the Premises Tenancy Act under which a Rent Controller or Addl Rent Controller is appointed to deal with the dispute arising out of a rent agreement between the parties. Serving a legal notice to the Landlord, you can file an application explaining your grievance against the arbitrary and unethical action of the Landlord before the concerned Rent Controller to resolve the issue legally and amicably. You may hire an Advocate if required, to navigate the issue in the right way.
