Immigration consultancy not providing refund

In the given scenario, serving a legal notice to the Service provider, Wider World Immigration Services, file a complaint against them for criminal breach of trust and cheating under Section 316 and Section 318 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita(BNS) at the local police station. In the absence of any agreement or legal document, a service provider cannot deny a refund of service charges for a service that is not availed of by the customer or consumer that amounts to deficiency in service and unfair trade practices as defined under Section 2(47) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. An aggrieved consumer can file a complaint against the service provider under Section 35 of the said Act before the District Consumer Commission claiming a refund of service charges paid by the consumer along with interest and compensation for harassment. The complaint should be filed within two years from the date of the cause of action. If required, hire an Advocate to navigate the issue in the right way.
