A Relative falsely claiming my deceased father destroyed his certificates

One of my father's(deceased for 2 years 8 months 17 days ) distant relatives is going around the village and getting signatures of a few people who don't get along with my family along with the signatories' adhar card falsely claiming that my father burnt his certificates so he is unable to acquire a job and has been suffering his whole life because of it. Can he file a false case on a dead person claiming the deceased has burnt one's degree certificates causing damage and claim compensation? Or is there any other way he can fabricate legal trouble for my family? Please help, how to be protected from such false allegations, i will be truly grateful.

Dear Client,
It is a settled principle of law that any proceedings initiated against the dead person are nullity, and any order passed against the dead person is null and void. The Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of D.R.Somayajulu Sec. D.L.S vs Athili Appala Swamy & Ors decided on 19 November 2014 held that any proceedings taken against a dead person are totally void, ab initio. So, nothing to worry about false complaint which is void ab initio.
