My father in law lives inTAMILNADU
He has ancestral and self aquired agricultural Properties. He wants to write settlement deed for both Properties in favour of his daughters.

Question :
1. Does my father in law has right to deny his wife's share in his ancestral property ?
2. Can my father in law distribute self aquired Property to daughters without any share to his wife ?

A.Dear Sir,
No body can claim a share in self acquired properties. But you have a share in ancestral properties.

A.1. ancestral properties will be distributed among the legal heirs in equal proportion and your FIL cannot deprive his wife of the legal share
2. Yes, your father in law can distribute self-acquired Property to daughters without any share to his wife

better to execute transfer deed in relation to self-acquired property to remove any future legal complications
