Refund of fees from coaching institute

I deposited complete fees at Vidya Guru but due to certain family issues I was unable to continue, I didn't attend even a single class and when I tried to get my refund they refused flatly telling that the fees is non refundable.
But I wanted to know if I didn't avail any service from them how can they keep my hard earned money

A.There is always a clause and terms and agreement which state as to which and what amount are refundable and what are not. Booking fee, registration fee, admission fee etc are generally non-refundable.
However it is advisable to talk to the authorities and understand as to why are they not refunding the said amount when you did not avail any of their services.
If need be you can also send them a legal notice for the same and thereafter proceed legally.

A.send them a legal notice through counsel claiming your fee back along with interest and if they failed in making payment file a consumer case in the concerned forum and claim a refund of fee along with interest and damages for causing mental harassment
