You have a strong case for claiming compensation due to the severe dog bite injury, negligence, and trauma caused by your landlord.

1) Appoint an Advocate and send a legal notice demanding compensation .
2) File a civil suit for damages in the appropriate court if no response is received.
3) Continue to pursue the FIR and coordinate with the police to strengthen the criminal case.

The Indian Constitution honors the existence and welfare of animals by establishing the responsibility of all Indian citizens to respect and have compassion for all living things. General protection of animal rights is provided under the Indian Constitution. It is a fundamental duty in Article 51A (G) of the Constitution of India to protect wildlife and to show compassion for all living things. In India, dogs are protected under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960(PCA), and Rules made under section 38 of the PCA Act of 1960, specifically, the Animal Birth Control(Dogs) Rules,2001. The owner of the dog can be held liable in a dog biting case once an FIR under section 289 of the IPC is filed by the victim at the local police station. According to Section 289 of the Indian Penal Code, whoever knowingly or negligently omits to take such order with any animal in his possession as is sufficient to guard against any probable danger to human life, or any probable danger of grievous hurt from such animal shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both. Accordingly, you can lodge an FIR for injury arising out of dog biting against the dog owner under Section 289 of IPC at the local police station.
