No, you do not need the consent of the two individuals to obtain the information regarding the statements they gave to the police through an RTI (Right to Information) application.

You can request a copy of the FIR filed against you. You can ask for the progress report or status of the investigation. Under Section 161 CrPC, statements given by witnesses to the police may be accessible during the investigation stage or later after the charge sheet is filed. Final Report/Charge Sheet: If the investigation is complete, you can ask for a copy of the final report/charge sheet.

You can directly ask for the certified copy from the Court if the case has been registered and send it to court.

A First Information Report (FIR) is considered a public document under Section 74 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872. It is neither a confidential document nor its disclosure would impede the investigation or subsequent prosecution. However, its disclosure may be restricted under certain conditions, such as when it falls under exemptions outlined in Section 8(1) of the RTI Act, 2005. In the 2nd Appeal between RTI Foundation of India Mr. R. Govindarajan v. Central Vigilance Commission in File No. CIC/SM/A/2012/001320, RTI Foundation of India, the Chief Information Commission(CIC) ruled that the first information report of any case is neither a confidential document nor its disclosure would impede the investigation or subsequent prosecution. Accordingly, you can apply to the concerned SPIO of the Police Department seeking the information under Section 6(1) of the RTI Act, 2005 along with requisite fees as prescribed under the state-specific Right to Information Rules.
