Adoption Deed required in school to change name of my son

I live in Dombivli, Maharashtra. This is my second marriage. My husband has legally adopted my son. We have court order stating my husband has adopted my son, Accordingly birth certificate is issued by KDMC. But to change name in school Zilla parishad, thane requires adoption Deed. Please advise procedure and total cost which will incur to get adoption deed.

Dear Client,

Since, your husband has already legally adopted your son through a court order and the birth certificate is updated, you're in a strong position. However, the Zilla Parishad school in Thane is asking for an Adoption Deed, which is usually a legal document executed before or in support of a court order, especially in domestic adoptions. This is common when the school authorities are not fully aware of the legal weight of a court order. If your husband legally adopted your son and a court decree is already passed, then executing an adoption deed now is possible for record purposes only, not as the primary legal basis for adoption.

Dear Sir,
After Court Decree you have to go to the office of Sub-Registrar and get registered adoption deed by paying necessary stamp duty. Such stamp duty will be fixed by your State Government. You may individually approach such office to avoid unnecessarily expenses.
