can I get a refund from coaching center
How can I get a refund from Unacademy after being misled about the JEE Advanced 2025 crash course? I am seeking help regarding an issue with Unacademy Hyderabad and a crash course I enrolled my daughter in. I inquired about the JEE Advanced 2025 crash course at Unacademy, and the staff informed me that the batch would start on March 24, 2025. Based on this, I enrolled my daughter and paid a fee of Rs.22,000. However, the fee receipt they provided was for NEET 2025 crash course, which I immediately questioned. The management assured me it was just a clerical issue and said my daughter would be placed in the JEE Advanced crash course. On March 24, when my daughter went to the academy, they placed her in EAPCET 2025 classes instead. I visited the academy to clarify, and they told me that the JEE Advanced crash course would only begin after the JEE Mains 2025 Session 2 (post April 7). So, on April 9, my daughter returned to the academy, but this time, they placed her into a JEE Advanced long-term batch, where most of the syllabus was already completed. It was then I realized that Unacademy never had a proper JEE Advanced 2025 crash course, and we were misled from the beginning. I emailed Unacademy customer support on April 10, requesting a refund, but they responded that more than 30 days have passed, so they can’t process it. I again visited the academy, and now they are asking me to send an email stating that my daughter has health issues and is unable to attend classes in order to process a refund. This situation feels completely unfair and unethical. We were promised a course that doesn’t exist, and now we are being denied a refund. Can someone please guide me on how to escalate this issue or get a refund from Unacademy? Any legal advice or contact information for consumer grievance redressal would be greatly appreciated.
