Refund of Tution Fess

I have paid Rs 77000 to one of the schools in the month fo Feb 2025. As i am working in Public Sector and we are through transfers in 3 to 4 years. In March 2025, I have been transfer to another departmnet but in same city. so i am unable to conitune in the same school. Now i have requested for refund of my tution fees which i had paid. My ward didnt attend even a single day for new class. Now school refuses to refund the fees. What will the legal action i can take for refund of my fees.

Dear Client,

Since your child never attended even a single day of the new academic session, and you paid the fees in advance, you do have some legal options.

First of all you can send a legal notice to the school asking for a refund of the tuition fees mentioning that your child never availed the service.

If the school does not refund the amount even after a legal notice you can file a complaint in the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission claiming the refund along with compensation.

Engage a lawyer to send a legal notice or to file a consumer complaint.
