What to do when fake charges are filed against us

Due to an incident where the 16 year old almost took her own life due to a failed relationship she had, we had brought her to stay with us. Our families were all really in harmony, and seeing that this relative of ours almost disowned the girl, we took her in and let her stay with us for the past year. But, just a few months ago after repeated incidents of inappropriate behaviour and relationships, we had the girl sent back to her home. The said girl is my cousin, she's has had multiple relationships in the past and it was also the reason her parents almost disowned her. We took her in thinking she'd change if she's with us, but things only got worse. After scolding her as her aunt my mom talked to her mother saying she'll send her back after her exams, but her mother insisted on bringing her back right away and took her away. The after about 2 months, we find that they've fild a complaint against my mom and two other elders of our family saying we had made their daughter undergo domestic violence, which in reality was a false charge. They made the girl give the case and so it became huge, but in the end the police found that there was nothing proving the case and understood most of what happened and said they can't take action against us for no reason. We don't know what has gotten into them but it seems they won't stop until atleast making my mother go to jail for a couple of days. So after the police station they went to CWC, filing a complaint against my mom saying she had beaten her, but they said they couldn't take action against us either for no reason. So they filed a second case over there with false charges saying my mother has sexually assaulted the daughter. While my mother might have been a widow, she has taken good care of us in our father's stead all these years. And the same also went to her when she had stayed with us. But, hearing them make up such things that makes others question her integrity my mother was almost at the point of taking her own life. We ourselves are from an orthodox family of believers and take such things very seriously. But, keeping that aside, the case was filed and when they were asked to send the child for medical tests they then withdrew the complaint. So both our family and theirs were made to compromise our issues at the first station that they had filed complaint against us. But, it seems they're yet to settle down, as it seems through the uncle's connections, who is a govt. employee, they're trying to file a case against us, our whole family, in the human rights commission through the minister of something. We are really poor and don't find it in ourselves to willingly go and harm others, and even when we're harmed we're taught to forgive them for it. And yet this is how we're repaid for the kindness we've shown them. We hadn't asked for a single penny for looking after their daughter while she was with us and they didn't need her, and the daughter herself who was treated even better than us, our mom's children, has filed such things against us. Now i hear something about making everyone in our family be put in jail for 3 months or so, and my mom for 6 months for acts of violence against a 16 year old. We don't really know what to make of this or how we should proceed, can we be arrested without any evidence on just false claims? Is there no way to defend ourselves or prove our innocence?
