Owner quotation of 38k deduction in maintenance even after painting the house
Our owner has hired a third party broker to manage his rental property. After 3 years 10 months after our notice we are vacating and as per the agreement we are supposed to get our apartment painted + any damages. As it was a too much of a task we asked the owner to deduct one month rent which was 29,500 at the time of vacating + extra charges if it's not covered in the one month extra rent. He denied and asked us to get it painted. Ap we got it painted and now he is deducting the painting charges quoting it's not painted properly + is deducting money for many other items inflating charges of each item he is deducting. We have spent 29-30k in painting and cleaning. Now he is deducting 38k above that. Please help us on this. How should we go about it? We got the apartment painted
