Wrong police complaint given on me

Sir,
We are having one of site .
There we are doing construction and one if neighbor came to me and fighted on me to show the documents he gone police station and booked FIR we had taken station bail.
Final he given wrong site documents and the authority person report that he given wrong site paper in the police station.
Now we are planning to claim of Defamation is it work ?
Can i send Notice to him ?
For claiming we have consultant any Lawer ?

A.Please do not rush this case is at its pre mature stage let the investigation get over.
