seeking divorce
Respected Sir/Madam, My name is Munmun Das, born on 30th September 1995. I am from Tahirpur, Nadia District, West Bengal. I am writing this to seek immediate legal aid and support regarding my marital situation. I got married in 2018 to Abhishek Sen, who resides in Chakdah, chuadanga West Bengal. Shortly after, I became pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy in 2019, who is now 6 years old. Since the beginning of my marriage, I have not been allowed to work or become financially independent. I was consistently told by my husband and in-laws that once the baby grows up, I could begin working. But years have passed, and I was never given the freedom to do so. Instead, I have faced continued emotional and mental abuse, and in recent years, sexual abuse as well. In 2020, I left my husband's home and returned to my maternal home in hopes of escaping the abuse. However, my husband and his family emotionally manipulated me — even falling at my feet and pleading for a second chance. My own family urged me to return and try again. I went back with the hope things would improve, but they never did. The abuse only worsened. My husband often accused me without reason — questioning my activities, my presence on Instagram, or whom I was speaking to. This continuous mental torture has affected my well-being, but I tried to stay strong for the sake of my child. In the past few years, the abuse has also become sexual. Despite my medical problems and my repeated pleas to stop, my husband has forced himself on me. He justifies this by saying I am his wife, and that no one will believe me or help me prove non-consensual sex in a marriage of seven years. Now, I am left without emotional, financial, or parental support — my own parents are also not standing with me. I feel completely helpless, and the thought of ending my life has crossed my mind. But I want to live for my son. I want to give him a better life and a peaceful future. I am requesting legal support for: Divorce from my husband, based on sustained mental and sexual abuse Sole custody of my son, as I am the primary caregiver and wish to secure his safety and well-being Any guidance or support for rehabilitation, so I can start my life anew and become financially independent I am still only 30 years old, and I want to restart my life with dignity and peace. I am ready to work hard and relocate anywhere in India or the world for the sake of my son. But I need urgent help to break free from this abusive environment. Please treat this as a serious and urgent appeal for help. I do not have the means to hire a private lawyer. I request your team to kindly consider me for free legal aid and protection. Sincerely, Munmun Das Taherpur, Nadia District, West Bengal 8617569739
