Contract lecturers removed from their duties in government polytechnics
4 years ago
Last year all contract lectures were removed from their duties from several Government Polytechnic colleges. No written order was issued to us for that and before that we had been asked to work without sign on attendance register for two months. We joined the college after interview, held according to published advertisement. There are no surplus contract lectures too. What should be done?

A.It looks like a play to me.
The college wanted no evidence and as such did not want you to sign on the registers.
However, filing a writ petition is the best way to go about this query.
Thanks

A.If you have been issued an appointment letter by the college and no order of removal has been given to you in writing then you can join back the duties. In case you are not allowed to by the college authorities then you may file a writ petition before the concerned High Court and seek appropriate directions for joining back the duties. You may attach documents related to your appointment, salary etc to show that you were working in that college. Alternatively, you may also approach the concerned authorities of the Labour Department and file a complaint with them with regard to the oral termination.
