Wakf Land Rent Dues After Fathers Death
Hello, I need some advice regarding Wakf property. My grandfather originally rented a Wakf land shop, and my father continued the business there after him. Unfortunately, my father passed away 4 years ago. Since then, I have been in my native place and the shop has not been regularly used. Now, the Wakf rent collector is asking me to pay rent dues for the last 4 years. There is no rental agreement in my name, and I have not officially taken over the shop. My questions are: 1. Am I legally responsible for the rent dues after my father’s death? 2. Can I request a waiver or negotiate the amount with the Wakf Board? 3. What steps should I take to either regularize the shop in my name or close it without penalty?
