If you believe your answers were not assessed fairly, or if you think the examiner missed key points or made errors in evaluating your work, revaluation is the better option. Universities typically charge fees in advance along with the application for revaluation of answer papers. Revaluation is a process where your entire answer sheet is re-evaluated by a different examiner. Revaluation can lead to an increase in your marks if the new examiner finds that your answers were undervalued initially. But, there is also a possibility of marks decreasing if the new examiner finds that some answers were overvalued in the original assessment of answer papers. However, if the outcome of said revaluation of answer papers found unsatisfactory or unacceptable, an aggrieved student can escalate his or her grievance before the regulatory authority of all universities, including private universities, i.e, the University Grant Commission(UGC). To streamline the stakeholders' grievance redressal mechanisms, UGC has merged its existing portals/helplines except for Anti Ragging Helpline and developed a new portal "UGC e-samadhan”.
