PoSH procedure - is the report valid
I physically spoke with Internal committee chairlady about an incident. She resisted me officially filing complaint and insisted me to face my perpetrator by myself face to face. She humiliated me and made it seem like she could not trust me and tried to protect the perpetrator. Then after few days, I sent via email my complaint. She responded back over email acknowledging receiving the complaint. No interim relief despite my several request since me and the perpetrator were in the same campus , had to attend classes together regularly and live in same hostel. She only saying "this process takes time, internal committee will discuss internally". Further, there was no hearing to which I was called. They delayed whole process and only thing done was my email sent to perpetrator and his and witness emails sent back to me. Even cross questioning was not done by calling us physically, only our emails were sent back and forth. The internal committee even pressurised me to drop my complaint but I did not agree to it. After that, internal committee prepared a report, about 5 months from the date I received their acknowledgement to my initial complaint email. They selectively picked sentences and tried to frame the situation as - nothing could be proved, all my allegations were unsubstantiated. That I was under stress and even put false allegation against me and my family who went to support me and asked accountability from management for my safety. I want to know how court sees such an internal committee report. Because when I filed FIR in police, rather than conducting their own inquiry, police took this report from management and did nothing else and is trying to close my file. I also received harassment and threats from management and threatened by the police. Under pressure, I had to say that I want no inquiry to be done. Is the committee report valid? Because it is biased and it just serves to protect their own interest financially and hide the lack of safety and protect their own status. The procedure was also not followed since there was no physical hearing.
