Guidance Regarding Bond Agreement Issue After Resignation
I am reaching out to seek your help and guidance regarding an issue I am facing with my current employer. I resigned from my company on 21st July, as I had to pursue higher studies. My employment agreement includes a 2-year bond with a ₹2,00,000 amount, which is payable if I resign before completing 2 years. However, as per the same agreement, if an employee resigns after completing 1 year of service for the purpose of higher studies, the bond amount is waived off. Before applying for admission and submitting my resignation, I discussed this clause with the HR department, and they confirmed that the waiver would apply in my case. I have also served the full 3-month notice period as per company policy. However, to my surprise, I recently received an email stating that I must still pay ₹2,00,000 as the bond amount, which contradicts both the written agreement and the prior discussions I had with HR. I am reaching out to request your guidance and support in understanding what steps I can take in this matter, as I have acted in good faith and followed the terms of the agreement correctly.
