Today I have been served a summons in a property case involving my deceased grandmother who owned a laundry as a tenant in the 1950s. She had given another man permission to run the laundry on royalty payment. However this man refused to give the laundry back and is occupying the premises. We had filed a case against him and won but we failed to secure the premises. Now the new landlord is demanding money from us in spite of this man occupying the laundry and has sent us a summons for a huge amount which we are not in a position to pay. We have not been in occupation and it is unfair to ask us to pay.

A.Hello,
You may appear before the court through your lawyer to contest the suit and also issue a notice to the man occupying your premises as well as file a police complaint against him as he is going against the court's order.
Hope that helps!
Regards.
