Dear Client,
Your query lacks information. However, be informed that as per law only the Court has the power to change the name of parents in Birth Certificate of an adopted child. Any other procedure to change the name if followed will make it null and void. So, for getting the name of the biological father replaced with the adopted father's name in the birth certificate of the adopted child, you have to file a civil suit in the civil court to declare the adoption deed as valid and a direction to the registrar of births and deaths to make an amendment in the registrar of births and deaths by inserting the adopted father's name in place of the biological father's name in respect of the child's birth register details. On receipt of Court's order, you need to apply along with copy of Court's Order, Birth Certificate of the child, Deed of Adoption, ID proofs of the adopted parents to the Registrar of Birth and Death usually available in the office of the Municipal Authority under whose jurisdiction, the child was born and post verification of the documents, he will change the child's father name from the old one to the new one in the register held by him in this regard and issue a revised birth certificate reflecting the adoptive parents as the parents of the child. It is essential to follow the correct procedure to ensure that the name correction is recognized by the concerned Authority.
