Dear client,
From the facts you have described, this appears to be a case of online loan fraud/scam rather than a genuine loan transaction. Legitimate lenders do not ask for repeated deposits such as “account protection fees,” “correction charges,” or additional percentages to generate withdrawal codes. Blocking your login access and demanding further payments is a common fraudulent tactic.
You should immediately stop making any further payments. The amounts already paid can be attempted to be recovered, but quick action is important.
You can file a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and choose the financial fraud option. Provide all details such as transaction receipts, bank statements, screenshots of the website, messages, and payment requests. After filing, you should also contact your bank and inform them that you have been a victim of fraud, requesting them to initiate a fund trace or reversal if possible. Early reporting increases the chances of freezing the recipient account.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Reserve Bank of India through its grievance system if the entity claimed to be a registered lender, and verify whether the company is actually registered as an NBFC. Most such platforms are unregulated.
If the fraudsters are continuing to demand money or threatening you, you can fike a police complaint for cheating and cyber fraud. Such conduct may attract offences relating to cheating and dishonest inducement under criminal law.
For recovery of ₹31,000, you may also consider sending a legal notice if the party is identifiable and has a real address. However, in many online scams, criminal complaint and cyber reporting are more effective than civil action.
As a precaution, change your banking passwords and do not share OTPs or personal details further. In future, avoid any loan platform that demands upfront deposits or charges before disbursal, as genuine lenders deduct charges from the loan amount rather than asking for advance payments
