Dear Client,
If your SIM has been barred due to a cyber crime or online financial fraud complaint, the telecom service provider usually acts on instructions issued by the police or cyber crime authorities. In such situations, the service provider may insist on a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or closure/report from the concerned police authority before restoring the SIM services.
You should first collect all relevant details from the service provider, including the complaint number, police station name, state, and the authority that issued the blocking instruction. Thereafter, you may contact the concerned Cyber Crime Police Station and submit a written representation stating that you are the genuine owner/user of the number and request clarification regarding the complaint. Keep copies of your ID proof, SIM ownership documents, and any communication received from the telecom company.
If you are not involved in any fraudulent activity, you may request the police authority to issue an NOC or withdrawal/intimation letter to the telecom operator for restoration of the SIM. In case there is unnecessary delay or harassment, you may also approach the local cyber cell, file a written grievance with the telecom nodal officer, or seek appropriate legal remedy before the competent authority.
