Query about Joining Govt. Job.. Query about Joining Govt. Job..

My father has been convicted in a criminal case. No other family member was even named in that case including me. My record is absolutely clear. Now will this situation cause any problem to me in getting me a Central Government job (UPSC civil service) . I know that the Government ask for only candidate's credentials and not family member's. still I am worried. Please help.
