We want to sell our ancestral property which is actually belongs to my grand father. when we see for the documents we found that it is on my grand father brother's name whereas all taxes and revenue generation process is on my grand father's name. Now we have a passbooks on my father's name. Now we have a fear to sell the land as it is not on my grand father's name. Also we have land in two survey numbers whereas we can find only one survey number in records. Please help me how to deal with this issue.

A.You certainly cannot sell the land which is not in your grandfather`s name, you will have to ask for partition if it is inherited by him without partition. That land in two survey numbers whereas you said you can find only one survey number in records, find the other one.
