Dear client,
Under Indian law, if the jewellery and other articles constitute your stridhan, you have an exclusive legal right over them, and your husband or his family cannot retain, dispose of, or refuse to return them.
Since your court has already recorded that you have a right over your stridhan, you should ask your advocate to seek a specific direction for recovery/handing over of the stridhan, preferably directing your husband/in-laws to produce and hand over the articles or directing the Investigating Officer/police to recover them from the premises and prepare a proper seizure/recovery memo in your presence or through an authorized representative.You should provide the court and IO with a detailed list of the articles, photographs, purchase bills, marriage photographs, gift records and any other evidence showing ownership and possession.
