A.dear client in your matter i agreed on legal opinion that There are various terms that you have used in your post which makes your post full of ambiguity. Settlement is a word used when you settle things which is an outcome of a pending transaction. Did your grandfather owe you something against which he gave you his property with a settlement deed. In order to effect a transfer of self acquired property, a gift deed is made or a WILL is made. Request you to please check and confirm. Kindly consult for a further legal advice in this case
