Leakage in flat

I am resident of Mumbai. Due to water leakage from above flat our false ceiling have damaged completely . Flat owner above refused to repair the leakage from his flat and ask us to pay for his repair even after he damaged my complete false ceiling.
Society members ask to talk with owner .
All communication are done orally till date I have not written letter.

Sir do I need to pay for repairs in his flat?
Can I demand for compensation for damaged done by leakage from his flat?

Where should I file complain and what should be course of action ?

A.Send a notice to society and the owner of the flats to provide a solution and to carry out repairs. Find the source of leakage. If the redressal is not provided, file a civil suit

A.Dear Sir,
If it is in Society then you must raise complaint with management orelse get issue a legal notice and file civil suit.

A.Dear clint first sent him legal notice from a advocate if then also he is not willing to solve your problem file a suit in Civil court
