Broker asking for Brokerage again for renewing rent agreement Broker asking for Brokerage again for renewing rent agreement

I have been living in the rented house in Surat, Gujarat from 2 years since Dec 2017 for rent of Rs7500 per month, that time rent agreement made between me & the owner via his broker and brokerage of Rs5500 given to broker. The owners house is been looked out by his broker. In Nov 2018 rent agreement renewed by the owner rent revised to Rs8000 per month. All the rent I have been paying via NetBanking on the 1st of the month. Now this year Nov 2019 broker wants brokerage of Rs8000 for renewal of rent agreement as he is not earning anything from our stay, so the broker is asking to vacant the house or give the Brokerage. I said him there is no where mentioned of paying brokerage yearly & no rule. On speaking to landlord, he says his house is been monitored by his broker. Please advise what to do!

A.Dear Sir,
Instead of going through broker for renewal you may approach the owner of the building to avoid further brokerage.

A.Since there is no such agreement between you and the broker so you should not pay anything to him. If he causes unnecessary troubles then lodge a complaint against him.
